Change vs. Brain

work friction vs. work-flow

The Change Brain tool is by far the most effective method of transitioning from work friction to work flow, by building and maintaining the capacity of your organisation to make and manage changes, ensuring peak performance in all conditions.

Flow Capacity

The Change Brain tool focuses on Flow Capacity (FCAP), which reflects how well an organisation and its employees maintain operational efficiency and effectiveness within continually changing work environments. High Flow means smooth, efficient operations and better performance. In contrast, Friction, caused by planned or unplanned change, creates challenges and inefficiencies. The tool aims to reduce Friction and increase Flow by building and maintaining the capabilities that are key to anticipating, understanding, and tackling the disruptors brought about by change.

Flow Disruption

Over three years, we have closely monitored how well organisations are equipped to handle the challenges and opportunities of change. Our findings spanning 2021 to 2023, indicate a significant decline in these capabilities. This decline was measured across all five Zones of the Change Brain.

When we maintain flow, we make and manage change. When we don't, change will make and manage us.

Change Zones

By focusing on the five change zones – Reason, Readiness, Impact, Assistance, and Ability – the Change Brain tool helps organisations and their employees take back control. This enables them not only to respond to change but also to actively drive it, leading to enhanced performance in rapidly evolving work environments.

Step One

  • Your people access the Change Brain (CB) tool via desktop, tablet or mobile.
  • Feedback via the CB tool is anonymous and takes at most two minutes.
  • Flow Capacity (FCAP) is calculated for each Change Brain Zone; Reason, Readiness, Impact, Assistance and Ability and compared against an FCAP baseline.

Step Two

Analysis is about exploring the Flow Capacity (performance) of each Change Brain Zone at various levels. Tracking the development of your organisation’s capacity to make and manage changes.

Step Three

Your Change Superpower profile is compared against hundreds of change scenarios to provide valuable insights into the development of your organisation’s Change Brain. Following this analysis, you receive recommendations for enhancing your Flow Capacity.

Change Mindflex

The Change Brain champions the cultivation of ‘Mindflex’ over a traditional mindset, advocating for a powerful, adaptable response to change within individuals and organisations alike. To support and sustain this, we offer a suite of development guides. These resources are designed to bolster the five Change Brain Zones — Reason, Readiness, Impact, Assistance, and Ability — ensuring change is a positive force that enhances performance and well-being at all levels of the organisation.
